Cameron White won the toss and Australia will bat first in the second Twenty20 in Johannesburg, but Shane Watson won't be walking out first after being ruled out of the match due to a minor hip injury. White said Watson would be available for the first ODI in Centurion on Wednesday, but his place in this match was taken by the debutant allrounder Mitchell Marsh.
The wicketkeeper Matthew Wade, who opens for Victoria in the shorter formats, will face the new ball alongside David Warner. Marsh, 19, who joins his brother Shaun and father Geoff as Australian representatives, has been listed to come in at No.7.
The South Africans also made one change, with the spinner Robin Peterson left out and Wayne Parnell included on a pitch expected to offer more for the fast men. The captain Hashim Amla said he would have sent Australia in had he won the toss. "It's a good wicket," Amla said, "and generally it's quite challenging defending here."
